📘 A Legacy of Learning and Discovery

Established in 1973, the Department of Zoology has been a vibrant center of biological education, inspiring curiosity and nurturing scientific temper for over five decades.

The department initially offered B.Sc. in Zoology (Non-Major) from 1987 to 2019 and later evolved to offer B.Sc. in Zoology (Major) since 1998, continuing its commitment to academic excellence and innovation.

With a small but dedicated team, the department ensures personalized mentoring, continuous academic support, and meaningful teacher–student interaction.

  • Total in- take: 20 students per semester
    Our students form a close-knit community of passionate learners, guided to explore, question and understand the wonders of animal life.


🌿 Green Life Society (GLS)

The department proudly runs an environmental awareness and conservation society — “Green Life Society (GLS)”.
Through GLS, students engage in eco-awareness drives, community outreach, and nature-based learning, promoting sustainable living among the campus and neighboring communities.

🧬 Programme Objective & Outcome

Objective:
To produce graduates with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in the diverse fields of Zoology.

Outcome:
Students progress from studying simple to complex animal systems, gaining insights into ecology, anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, cell biology, and immunology.
The program prepares them for higher studies, research, and modern biotechnological applications, providing a strong foundation for future scientific careers.
