Green Life Society                  

Established on 11th September 1999, Green Life Society is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization under the Department of Zoology, Namrup College, Assam. It was pioneered by Ms. Dipali Dutta Bordoloi (Ex-HoD), along with Ms. Dorodi Saikia Borah and  Mr. Hijam Homendro Singh  (Ex-HoD), who also designed the society’s logo. The society is committed to addressing environmental issues and creating awareness on vital social concerns like AIDS, cancer, and substance abuse. Major activities include anti-polythene campaigns, biodiversity awareness, vermicomposting, tree plantation, and competitions to engage youth. It organizes popular talks on themes such as Green Economy, Air Pollution, and Zero Tolerance for Illegal Wildlife Trade. The society actively observes World Environment Day, World AIDS Day, World Cancer Day and World Wetland Day, collaborating with bodies like the Assam Science Society, CISF-Unit BVFCL, and the Botany Department of Namrup College. Led by students and guided by faculty, the society once offered a self-financing course on Electrical Appliance Maintenance. Registered under WWF-India (Reg. No. AAPSO/ASS/04) until 2005, Green Life Society continues to promote youth engagement, sustainable living and community awareness with unwavering dedication.
